Being fascinated by the infinitely different ways of reading and interpreting everyday life, Maness makes use of the space as an intimate and subjective experience.
The room, filled and yet airy, narrates an idea of how ideas and concepts are created. Still, the space purposely stays open for the performance happening and rearrangements.
The materiality of the stucco slabs – notches and edges – creates an intrinsic code that the musician interprets in different ways and possibilities. Reading them with his own language and translation, along with the looping of every sound, a thought is built over and over again, until the first concept is almost unrecognisable.
