Maness’ work develops through long term projects, incorporating a variety of media including sound, sculpture, and repurposed objects. Focusing on the relationship between music and narrative, his installations and exhibitions can be seen as a moment in which sound takes a concrete shape.

His approach utilizes the coexistence of abstract and concrete, often suggesting a new way to look at the material present by becoming a part of the artwork itself. The physical space of the installations influences the conceptual process and in result offers new ways of looking, exhibiting and distributing art.

Born in Mexico in 1988, Mexican-Swiss artist Maness studied at the National Art Academy ENPEG "La Esmeralda" in Mexico City and graduated with a double degree from the École de Recherche Graphique in Brussels.

He currently resides in Berlin, Germany.
